Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced Monday that former Major League Baseball star Darryl Strawberry has signed as a brand ambassador for Datavault NIL Vault (“NILv”), the company’s upcoming name, image and likeness (“NIL”) exchange platform. The agreement marks a significant step for the company as it prepares for the commercial launch of its NIL-focused data exchange.
Under the services agreement, Strawberry will create promotional content, participate in marketing initiatives and share in revenue generated through his content. Datavault AI will provide platform support, activity tracking and revenue attribution. The company said NIL Vault is designed to enable athletes and other public figures to measure, monetize and retain an ongoing interest in the value generated by their name, image and likeness.
The collaboration with Strawberry, a former New York Mets and New York Yankees star, comes as Datavault AI continues expanding its portfolio of specialized data exchange platforms. The company expects to announce additional ambassador and content agreements in the coming months.
Datavault AI’s platform serves multiple industries, including high-performance computing software licensing for sports and entertainment, events and venues, biotech, education, fintech, real estate, healthcare and energy. The Information Data Exchange enables Digital Twins and the licensing of name, image and likeness by securely attaching physical real-world objects to immutable metadata.
The NIL Vault platform is part of Datavault AI’s Data Science division, which leverages Web 3.0 and high-performance computing to provide solutions for experiential data perception, valuation and secure monetization. The company’s Acoustic Sciences division features WiSA, ADIO and Sumerian patented technologies for spatial and multichannel wireless, high-definition sound transmission.
This announcement underscores the growing intersection of technology and athlete monetization, as platforms like NIL Vault aim to give public figures greater control over their personal brand value. For Datavault AI, the partnership with a high-profile athlete like Strawberry could help drive adoption of the platform ahead of its commercial launch.
