UGI Utilities is scheduled to start system upgrades in Bethlehem on July 1 as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure safe and reliable service. The project includes the replacement of a gas main, affecting East North Street between Pine Street and Center Street, and Center Street between East North Street and East Raspberry Street. Construction will take place from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with parking restrictions in effect during these hours.
The upgrades may temporarily interrupt natural gas service, necessitating UGI to access properties for equipment inspection and relighting. The underground work is anticipated to be finished by the end of July, though weather and working conditions could extend the timeline. Final paving and restoration will follow the completion of the underground work.
This initiative also presents an opportunity for homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas. UGI encourages those interested in making the switch to reach out for more information. For additional details about UGI Utilities, Inc., visit https://www.ugi.com.
